Glyn was a colleague and friend I valued greatly.

Somehow he managed to perfectly walk the tight rope of making you welcome at the same time as showing where you were going wrong. Never had another teacher quite like him, he will be greatly missed.

He went out of his way to know everyone. Nothing was too much trouble for him.

He even gave me a copy of our 1955 O level results ( I was one of 8 pupils in the first grammar school year ).

Secondly he encouraged me to attend Founders Day ( 2003 / 350 years )

His welcome and calmness was so important on that day you will appreciate the changes the school had made from 1955 to 2002.

Founders day has become an annual date in my diary

Thank you

He enabled complex Maths problems to be understood easily and had a warmth that endeared us all to him. Nothing was too much trouble and he always had time to give extra support were it was needed. I have fond memories of the post A level dinner with him and Dr K. Thanks for making A level Maths so enjoyable Mr Jones.

‘Graeme’s work has been of a very high standard this term – this makes me wonder what he was doing last term.’

RIP Mr Jones

Although Mr Jones never taught me, we would have a chat in passing most days and he was always an encouraging and grounding influence on us. His passion for education and his love of the school was evident. My best wishes and condolences to all his family.

I will remember you as a warm, supportive and smiley teacher back in the 70-80’s. Always around, and honestly, part of the fabric of the school. Thank you.
