{"id":103146,"date":"2026-08-20T11:44:38","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T10:44:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chethamsschoolofmusic.com\/?p=103146"},"modified":"2026-08-20T13:23:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T12:23:04","slug":"celebrating-gcse-results-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chethamsschoolofmusic.com\/blog\/celebrating-gcse-results-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrating GCSE Results 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Following on from a strong set of A Level results last week, our Middle School students have today achieved GCSE results to be very proud of.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This year, students achieved a <strong>96<\/strong><\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>%<\/strong> pass rate (grades 9\u20134)<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, miles higher than the national average of 67.3<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">%, making this our strongest result since 2022<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <strong>56<\/strong><\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>%<\/strong> of all results were grades 9<\/span><\/b><strong>\u20137<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, reflecting the high standards reached by Chetham\u2019s students across the curriculum.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Out of 43 Year 11 students, <strong>7 achieved grades 9\u20137<\/strong> across all their subjects, with <strong>4 <\/strong><\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>s<\/strong>ecuring grades 9\u20138 only<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. A further 13 Year 10 students sat GCSE Music a year early, with <\/span><strong>10 scoring all 7-9.<\/strong><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559685&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We are delighted that <strong>84% of <\/strong><\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">students<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> who have reached the end of Middle School will continue into Sixth Form at Chetham\u2019s, building on these academic achievements while taking their <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/chethamsschoolofmusic.com\/study\/music\/\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">musical skills<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> to the next level.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ms Nicola Smith, Joint Principal,<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> said:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cOur GCSE students have shown tremendous commitment, balancing the demands of an ambitious academic curriculum with the dedication required to excel as young musicians.
