Last month our Royal Patron, HRH The Earl of Wessex, helped us to launch our Fiftieth Anniversary celebrations at a special lunch at Buckingham Palace.<\/p>\n

The lunch included an \u2018Inside the Orchestra\u2019 performance by ten Chetham\u2019s students, where guests and The Earl of Wessex sat amongst the students as they rehearsed Britten\u2019s Soir\u00e9es musicales,<\/em> conducted by Director of Music Stephen Threlfall. The Earl also took part in the performance, ably taking on the side drum!<\/p>\n

Following the performance, HRH chatted to the students about their studies, before joining our guests for lunch.<\/p>\n

In 2019 we celebrate our Fiftieth Anniversary<\/a> as a specialist music school – an opportunity to celebrate half a century of music, and to look ahead to the next fifty years<\/p>\n

Throughout 2019 we will celebrate all that Chetham\u2019s is today with a programme of fifty concerts throughout the year, showcasing students and alumni, outreach events that impact on our communities and world-renowned musicians taking to The Stoller Hall stage.<\/p>\n
